TILLAMOOK, OR. -- Tillamook High School has started installing a state-of-the-art synthetic turf football/soccer field this week, financed through community support intended to increase playability and participation.

As the first of its kind on the Oregon Coast, the synthetic turf field has brought the community together, with in-kind donations for the base work, people working together to install the drain system, to the huge financial assistance from Tillamook Cheese and other local businesses. Professional Turf Solutions was chosen to install the field and has been there every step of the process, ensuring a quality product that will last for years and be useful in all types of weather and conditions.

Synthetic turf requires much less maintenance than natural turf fields and can be used every day of the year, making it extremely desirable for multi-use and for community events. This is a rubber-filled field, having consistent footing and a cushioned playing surface known to reduce injuries.

Professional Turf Solutions and the Tillamook School District would like to invite other area coaches, athletic directors, and interested parties in viewing this installation process to Tillamook. The owner of Professional Turf Solutions can be on hand to answer questions and the PTS crew will be working on the field.
